The Beatles 1964 London, England "Pops Alive!" Marquee-Style Handbill. An original paper concert flyer advertising The Beatles and many other hit acts performing at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London, England in the spring of 1964, as presented by the Fab Four's manager, Brian Epstein. The Beatles played two shows on Sunday night, May 31, with Kenny Lynch and five other acts in support. The little strip the Beatles are afforded on this flyer, the same size as all the other musicians, belies the world-conquering fame they had achieved. Perhaps it was just Epstein playing fair. Measures 5 1/2" x 8 3/8" and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: This is the same theatre where the Beatles had conducted their Royal Command Performance six months earlier, when John Lennon made his famous "rattle your jewelry" remark. Half a year later they were bigger than ever, with the filming of A Hard Day's Night now in the can but yet to be released. Over the following three days (Monday-Wednesday), the boys would record "I'll Cry Instead," "Slow Down," "Any Time at All," "When I Get Home," "Things We Said Today" and "I'll Be Back" at Abbey Road Studios.

The Beatles' set was short and sweet on this occasion. According to Mark Lewisohn's The Complete Beatles Chronicle book, the moptops performed "Can't Buy Me Love," "All My Loving," "This Boy," "Roll Over Beethoven," "Till There Was You," "Twist and Shout" and "Long Tall Sally" at both shows.

Condition details: Handbill just has some surface blemish marks, such as under "E" in "Epstein," above "Poole," over the "N" in "Orbison" and in "Federals," and in Dusty Springfield's yellow rectangle. The verso shows the other, lighter side of a couple of those. Also average handling to the coated paper.

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
