The Beach Boys 1965 Vintage Handbill and Colorful 1984 Concert Poster.
A lot of two concert-advertising pieces from nearly two decades apart for the boys from Hawthorne, CA. Consisting of:

    1) A vintage concert flyer for the Beach Boys' Sunday, September 19, 1965 show in Washington, D.C. This end-of-summer gig found the group coming off two straight smash hits, "Help Me, Rhonda" that spring and the unforgettable "California Girls" that summer. They were also touring off their hit album Summer Days (and Summer Nights!!), which peaked at #2 nationally.

Great, classic design used throughout the mid-60's, with Dennis, Brian, Carl, Mike and Al posing playfully in that vertical picture. "WPGC (The Good Guys Station) Presents In Concert," it says across the top, followed by lots of ticket-buying and support-act info given in red. And then in the spirit of the Beach Boys in the mid-60's, it says "Win a Honda" along the bottom, a sponsorship tie of course to their 1964 record "Little Honda." Measures 6" x 9.3". In Very Good Plus condition.

    2) And then what fun, amazing artwork for the 1984 paper poster featuring a Beach Boys concert in Cincinnati, Ohio "immediately following" a baseball game between the Reds and visiting Chicago Cubs. Depicting a surfing baseball listening to a transistor radio while sailing over Riverfront Stadium with various sponsorship air balloons (there's Honda again), it's obviously a one-off poster designed just for this occasion. Only "Ross" is credited as the artist, but our hat's off to him.

The date was August 19, 1984 and the Beach Boys were well-established at this point as "America's Band" who frequently played the nation's capital around the Fourth of July. Measures 16.6" x 24.5", in Very Good condition with toning on the verso. COA from Heritage Auctions.

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
