Description

The Allman Brothers Band w/Duane, Jethro Tull 1970 College Concert Poster. An original concert poster, printed on thick pink paper, advertising a weekend of free daytime music in spring 1970 at the University of Miami featuring Jethro Tull touring in support of their brand new third album, Benefit, and the totally unknown Allman Brothers Band touring off their first. Simply a beautiful poster centered around the best artwork of Jethro Tull's career, their Stand Up album cover. Great wording throughout, including "It's all free! Bring a blanket and your SOUL." And we wonder who "Candy" was? We sure hope she still has a copy of this poster. Measures 17 1/2" x 22" and grades to Near Mint Minus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: A couple of the opening acts were well-known in the era, too... Pacific Gas & Electric, still touring off their debut Columbia Records album, and the James Cotton Blues Band, who had spent much of the previous year opening up for Janis Joplin on her solo tours.

Condition details: Upper left corner has a one-inch corner crease which doesn't come near the blue. Otherwise there's a few light edge creases here & there, but barely a factor because they hardly show on this thick pink stock.
