Description

The Allman Brothers Band 1974 "Dixie Weekend" Miami, FL Concert Poster. An original paper concert poster advertising a "Dixie Weekend" featuring the Allman Brothers Band, Wet Willie and Tower of Power at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida on August 17, 1974. The headliner now had bassist Lamar Williams in the band and they were a blockbuster act. Easily filling up American football stadiums across the United States, the Brothers' signature single "Ramblin' Man" was on the radio, and they traveled in the same Boeing 720B that Led Zeppelin flew in. Southern rock had that crossover appeal thanks to pop hooks, and this was a big time for it. Nice orange coloring and graphics on this one, too. This first-time Heritage offering measures 16 ¼" x 22 ½". In Very Good Plus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Wet Willie makes sense as an opener, but Tower of Power was an odd duck. The funky act was on tour behind their hit LP, Back to Oakland.

Condition details: Some spots of creasing (especially in the upper right corner), slightly bumped corners, smudges, and handling wear.
