    Description

Stevie Wonder 1979 Madison Square Garden Concert Poster. Made on cardstock, this was for the "premier live performance" Stevie Wonder's soundtrack to the documentary The Secret Life of Plants, which was released at the end of October that year. This was a transitional time for Stevie, as he continued to experiment with his sound, utilizing more synthesizers and adapted to the ever-changing tides of the forthcoming 1980s. Stevie was backed by the National Afro-American Philharmonic Orchestra at the legendary Madison Square Garden.

This poster comes from the estate and personal collection of New York City concert promoter M. Morton Hall, who passed away five years ago. An early club and concert promoter in the Big Apple, Hall is credited with putting disco on the map, helping to create a scene that ended up being a precursor to the early New York rap scene.

Measures 23" x 29". In Very Good Plus condition with some creasing along the upper portion, along with bumped corners, chipping on the edges, discoloration on the top edge. COA from Heritage Auctions.

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
