Description
Stevie Ray Vaughan, The Band 1984 Geneva, NY Concert Poster. An original concert-advertising poster printed on thick pink paper for blues guitar great Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble plus The Band - or 4/5 of the Band, anyway - performing at the Smith Opera House in Geneva, New York on Monday night, May 7, 1984. Local Woodstock musician Artie Traum was also listed as a special guest, surely playing with the Band, not Vaughan.Notice "Tickets At Door" written in silver marker in the lower left corner. As this was part of the show's original marketing and ticket sales, it is not deemed to be damage. In fact, a lot of collectors like that because it provides an added touch of authenticity.
Measures 17 1/2" x 22 1/2" and grades to Very Good condition. Poster was probably once squashed when it was rolled up, so there are plenty of horizontal creases from top to bottom. BUT they don't break color, they appeared to have been flattened for decades now, and don't impact the integrity of the poster. Maybe you can see them in our images, maybe not... one goes right under "THE BAND," another goes through Garth Hudson's eyebrows (far-right musician in lower picture)... and in many many more places, but they basically are felt with your touch more than they're seen. There's also a small ½" edge tear at the bottom straight down from "General." COA from Heritage Auctions.
