Description
Sex Pistols Randy's Rodeo Unused Concert Ticket (Stone City Attractions, 1978). Pink and white card general admission ticket for the Pistols' show in San Antonio, Texas on Jan. 8, 1978, priced at $3.50 and numbered 00196. Measures 4.25" x 1.5". In Near Mint condition.In 1978, the Sex Pistols embarked on a North American tour that was disastrous in just about every way imaginable, ultimately leading to the band's breakup. Consisting of dates booked by manager Malcolm McLaren at Country music venues and redneck bars mostly in the American South and Texas, the Pistols found an audience that was at best ill-prepared for the antics of the notorious Punk band, and physically combative at worst. According to some accounts, bassist Sid Vicious assaulted an audience member with his bass guitar during the band's set at the very show for which this ticket was printed!
Provenance: Formerly from the collection of Noel Monk, the Sex Pistols' American tour manger, and author of 12 Days on the Road the Sex Pistols and America.
