Description

Ruth Brown 1956 Wichita, KS "Mambo Club" Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising R&B great Ruth Brown performing at the cool-named Mambo Club in Wichita, Kansas on Sunday night, August 5, 1956. Billy Clark and His Orchestra were the musical back-up and opening act, which the promoters stretched into "Big Double Attraction."

Two of Ruth's many hits for Atlantic Records are given on the poster... "Sweet Baby of Mine" was a Top 10 R&B single and her latest hit that spring. And "5-10-15 Hours" had been #1 R&B for Ruth for seven weeks in 1952.

This first-ever Heritage offering measures 14" x 22 1/4" and grades to Very Good condition. Has surface spotting down below, which luckily doesn't touch any portion of Billy Clark's face, and brown toning around all four margins. COA from Heritage Auctions.
