Ray Charles Concert Poster (1956). Very Rare. Window card tour blank printed on card stock "DANCE, In Person - In Person - In Person, RAY CHARLES, Sensational Blind Pianist and Vocalist, Atlantic Recording Star Of Such Numbers As Drown In My Own Tears - Mary Ann, Come Back Baby - I Got A Woman - Greenbacks - This Little Girl Of Mine". The support act is Trumpet Black and his Orchestra. Measures 14" x 22". In Very Good condition, with a diagonal crease across the upper half of the poster, corners and edges rubbed and worn, .25" chip to upper right edge, toning and spotting to borders, slight ink loss in places to lettering.This very early Ray Charles concert poster is one of only two known where he is referred to as the "Sensational Blind Pianist And Vocalist". In later posters, the word "Blind" was removed.
Ray Charles won a total of eight Grammys over a career spanning seven decades. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1986. In 2010 Rolling Stone Magazine named him number two on their 100 Greatest Singers Of All Time list.
