Description
Ray Charles & Raeletts 1968 "All New Show" Midwestern Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising "The World's Most Exciting Musical Personality," Ray Charles, in concert in Grand Forks, North Dakota on Tuesday night, May 7, 1968. Naturally, Brother Ray was joined by his long-time female back-up singers, The Raeletts.Poster features nice purple & black coloring, and has a dramatic artist's rendition of "The Genius" leaning back while surely playing piano. Ray's new single at the time was a cover of the Beatles' "Eleanor Rigby," which made it into the top 40 of Billboard magazine's national "Hot 100" pop singles chart. He was also touring off his new ABC Records long-player, A Portrait of Ray, which included "Rigby" and went Top 5 on both Billboard's R&B and Jazz album charts.
Measures 17" x 26 1/4" and grades to Near Mint condition with toning along the edges, and slightly bumped corners. COA from Heritage Auctions.
