Quicksilver Messenger Service "Mornin Papa" Avalon Ballroom Concert Poster FD-89 (Family Dog, 1967). Here's a first-printing copy of the poster that got Robert Crumb's attention, with the end result being an invitation to artist Rick Griffin to join Crumb's Zap Comix group. This "Sunday Funnies" design is one of the most popular Family Dog posters, promoting shows held on October 27-29, 1967. According to Eric King's book on posters, artist Stanley Mouse also contributed one panel (next-to-last on the bottom tier of panels). The poster measures approximately 14.25" x 20"; threw's a slight bit of tanning in the white areas, and there are pieces of masking tape on all four corners of the reverse side that have very slightly shown through on the front. Otherwise, the poster is very nice, grading out at Near Mint Minus. A classic!
