Description

Quicksilver Messenger Service/ Big Brother & the Holding Company/ Grateful Dead "Independence Ball" Fillmore Concert Poster BG-14 (Bill Graham, 1966). A one-time-printing poster for an amazing and historic series of concerts, July 1-3, 1966, with art by Wes Wilson. This was Janis Joplin's first-ever appearance at the Fillmore as she had just joined Big Brother days before these shows. This was only the second appearance by the Grateful Dead at the legendary venue. Other acts include: Jaywalkers, Sopwith Camel, Charlatans, Love, Great Society, and Group B. Wow! Signed by artist in the plate at lower right margin. Size is 14" x 20". PLEASE NOTE: We had originally given this poster a NM grade, but have since noticed some unobtrusive tack holes, and have reconsidered the grade to be VG+.
