Pigmeat Markham "Here Comes the Judge" 1969 Jumbo Globe Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising comedian Pigmeat Markham "and Company" in performance at the Norfolk, Virginia Arena for two shows on Saturday night, June 28, 1969.

This is a trademark Globe poster with all its attendant Day-Glo inks present (orange and yellow). Pigmeat's career, of course, received a huge boost when Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In TV show picked up on his "Here Comes the Judge" schtick, and Pig turned it into a Top 20 pop hit in '68.

Peggy Scott & Jo Jo Benson had a couple of Top 10 R&B hits in '68, and they're both on the poster: "Lover's Holiday" and "Pickin' Wild Mountain Berries." In '69, their "Soulshake" made the R&B Top 20.

Cliff Nobles & Co. had a #2 pop hit with the instrumental "The Horse" in '68 as well. Even bottom-billed Ollie & the Nightingales placed a few singles on the R&B charts during this era.

Measures 22" x 28" and grades to Very Good Plus condition. Poster has a very light water stain running along the bottom white margin, plus up the left margin just a bit. Normally water stains are bad news, but this is truly harmless in that it barely touches the orange "cloud" and Globe Poster credit, is very soft and light, and certainly very dry now. A few little mold spots developed at the time along that edge, but again, pretty benign and dry. A small amount of creasing to three of the four corners. That black smudging above Markham's big name is pure printer's flaw. COA from Heritage Auctions.
