Patsy Cline 1959 Rising Sun, MD Unique Concert Handbill. An original paper concert flyer advertising the great Patsy Cline appearing at the New River Ranch in Rising Sun, Maryland on Sunday afternoon, June 14, 1959. Also appearing were "Hank Rector & Band / Plus Five Guest Country Music Bands."

At the time, Patsy was known only for "Walking After Midnight," which had been a #2 national C&W hit two years prior. That single's flip side, "A Poor Man's Roses (Or a Rich Man's Gold)," actually made it into the Top 15 in '57 as well. But otherwise Ms. Cline was on a cold streak, and wouldn't enter the charts again until 1961 with "I Fall to Pieces."

You have to love the informality of this handbill... "Come Early and Stay Late... Frank and Via." It sounds very homey, small-town and friendly.

Measures 5 5/8" x 8 1/2" and grades to Very Good Minus condition. Was once folded down into eighths, but has been stored flat for decades. The folds and creases are quite prominent, but remarkably don't break any of the black ink. There's a small brown mark in the lower right corner. COA from Heritage Auctions.
