Description
Parliaments, Soul Survivors, Fantastic Johnny "C" 1967 "Hot Record Artists" Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising some "HOT Record Artists of 1967" in an unusual Thanksgiving-themed concert poster adorned with two pumpkins and three turkeys. This was for eight nights' worth of shows commencing on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 23, 1967 at the famed Regal Theatre in Chicago, IL.On the bill were The Parliaments with George Clinton, who had a #3 R&B hit that summer with "(I Wanna) Testify." Other musicians included the Soul Survivors, whose "Expressway (To Your Heart)" had been a Top 5 pop hit that summer; Fantastic Johnny "C," whose "Boogaloo Down Broadway" was a current Top 10 pop hit; J.J. Barnes, who went Top 10 R&B this spring with "Baby Please Come Back Home"; and several more musicians, including The Dells who were an institution.
Measures 22" x 28" and grades to Near MInt condition with only some very light bumping to the upper left edge, a surface crease above "SCR" at the very bottom, some smudging on the bottom edge (a printer's anomaly) and toning around the edges on the verso. COA from Heritage Auctions.
