Description
Nirvana / Skin Yard / Bible Stud 1989 Lindbloom Student Center Concert Handbill. A crisp green document of a show Nirvana played before touring behind their debut album on Sub Pop, Bleach. Playing the student center at Green River Community College in Auburn, WA, note the puffy writing of Nirvana's logo, which is nothing like the logo they were known for (in Bodoni Extra Bold Condensed). With second guitarist Jason Everman in tow, this was the only show Nirvana played in the month of May in 1989. It was right before they trekked through the entire United States for a summer tour. That jaunt would later be known as "a total hungry punk rock tour" by Krist Novoselic in Michael Azerrad's Come As You Are: The Story of Nirvana. In Near Mint Minus condition. Measures 8 ½" x 11". COA from Heritage Auctions.
More Information: Only a few shows after this performance at GRCC, Nirvana went on a club tour behind their Jack Endino-produced album, Bleach. Endino played in Skin Yard, so having his band on the bill for this show made total sense. This was a pre-fame Nirvana, but if it weren't for shows like this one, the band's impact would have not been as strong. The album would keep selling week after week, giving an idea this little old band that started in the logging town of Aberdeen was going to be much bigger than just a local band.
Condition details: with light creasing and wear in various spots.
