Description

Miles Davis Open Door Small Concert Poster (Bob Reisner Presents, 1954). Very Rare. Printed on white card for a show on Sunday, June 20 (this date has been pasted over the original date on the poster) in New York. The poster announces "Bob Reisner Presents / The Greatest In / Modern Jazz / MILES DAVIS / Horace Silver - Piano / Kenny Clarke - Drums / Percy Heath - Bass". Measures 9" x 12". In Very Good Plus condition, with wear corners and edges, particularly upper left corner, general toning.

Provenance: Originally from the collection of Bob Reisner.

Bob Reisner was a jazz impresario, with two jazz clubs in New York, the Open Door and the Pad. He was a jazz critic for the Village Voice, and wrote the 1962 biography Bird: The Legend of Charlie Parker.
