Description
MC5 1971 Madison, Wisconsin Concert Poster. An original vintage concert poster advertising Detroit's MC5 playing at Dewey's in Madison, WI on Saturday night, May 15, 1971. The poster is headlined "OK Kids, It's Rockin' Time," and displays a nice sharp photo of Rob Tyner, Wayne Kramer, Fred "Sonic" Smith, Michael Davis and Dennis Thompson decked out in black leather jackets.The group was just about to release its third album, High Time, at the time of this show. But alas, national success would continue to elude the Motor City 5, and they would break up the following year.
Measures 11" x 17" and grades to Good condition for brown tape residue at the top and down in the band's picture; foxing in the upper left area; general grime and toning; indentations from a ballpoint pen or something over the three stars under the MC5's name and the "W" in "Deweys"; a 1 ½" crease in the upper left corner; and copious writing on the verso, in both black and blue pen, planning out other shows and posters.
