Marvin Gaye Signed Music Hall Concert Poster (1969). Extremely Rare. Oversized window card printed in Dayglo orange and yellow for a show in Houston, TX on Friday Feb. 21. The poster shows a headshot of Marvin Gaye and lists his recent no.1 hit " I Heard It Through The Grapevine". The support act is Young-Holt Unlimited and is signed and dedicated to "Larry" in black ink by Marvin Gaye, "Red" Holt, Eldee Young and two others. Measures 17" x 26.5". In Very Good Plus condition with pinholes to upper corners, a 2" x 2" circular stain to upper quarter, partial .25" hole to lower border, some creasing and surface crazing, toning to white areas, the reverse has areas of surface loss and is stamped with original owner's (Larry Lent) name and address.

Provenance: Ex-collection of Larry Lent, a Houston-based rock photographer in the 1960s and 1970s.

This is believed to be the first example of this poster ever to be sold at public auction. It is even more unique, considering it was also signed at the show, by Marvin Gaye.
