Description

Mabel Scott New Era Club Concert Poster (1953). Very Rare. Window card boxing style poster printed in red on card stock for a series of shows in Nashville beginning Fri Oct 2: "Mable [sic] Scott / The Elevator Boogie Girl In Person / Swinging And Singing The Blues - Dynamic Blues Artist". The poster also announces "Beginning Fri Oct 16 / Jesse "Dragnet" Allen / Versatile Blues Stylist / Latest Smash Hit "Dragnet Blues" / Fast Floor Shows Nitely". Printed by Hatch Show Print, Nashville. Measures 14" x 22". In Very Good condition, with two heavy creases from poster being quarter folded as stored by the printer, small spot of resiue to the first "L" in "Allen", some wear to corners and edges, general toning, dated "53" in red ink on the back.

This is a fine example of a Hatch poster for the Era, an early blues club in Nashville. Note that Mabel Scott's first name is misspelt "Mable" on this poster.
