Louis Armstrong 1934 Paris, France Concert Handbill. An original paper concert flyer advertising the great one, Louis "Satchmo" Armstrong, in concert over two dates in Paris, France. Allow us to translate the key lines: "Two Galas of Hot Jazz, on the 9th & 10th of November, 1934 at 9:00 PM. / N.-J. Canetti presents, for the first time in France, the most celebrated trumpeter in the world, Louis Armstrong, and his Famous Negro Jazz, exclusively on Brunswick [Records]. / Two different programs at these two concerts, which will be the only ones given in Paris."

Measures 10 3/4" x 8 3/8" and grades to Very Good Minus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Ticket prices and locations are given at the bottom. It's always a bonus when any handbill over 50 years old has a photo on it, but this one has a crazy large and high-quality photo on it, and the darn thing is 87 years old. Just a masterstroke of a vintage jazz advertising piece.

Condition details: Handbill was once folded down into sixths, leaving two heavy horizontal creases and a very harmless vertical one which misses most graphics. The horizontal folds do impact the photo of Satchmo and intersect promoter N.-J. Canetti's name. The words "Swing. "Gate" were written in fountain pen in the top right margin. The verso has strong signs of the folds and two very small black streaks, plus a tiny blemish above them.
