Link Wray/Frankie Avalon Masonic Temple Concert Poster (1958). Very Rare. Window card printed on card stock for a "Summer Dance Party" on Thurs July 17 in Scranton, PA. The poster lists five acts on the lineup, with recent hits, including Frankie Avalon, "Dede Dinah", Jan and Arnie, "Jennie Lee", Dicky Doo and the Don'ts "Nee Nee, Na Na Na Na, Nu Nu", Link Wray and his Ray Men, "Rumble", and Kalin Twins, "When". Printed by "Murray Poster Printing Co...N.Y.C.". Measures 14" x 22". In Very Good Minus condition with some repairs and touchups, some creasing, smudges and staining, general toning.

This is the first 1950s Link Wray concert poster ever to be offered at Heritage. Wray was a pioneering Rock 'n' Roll' guitarist, who, essentially, invented the power chord, first featured on his 1958 breakout hit "Rumble", which is listed on this poster. One of the support acts on this poster is Jan and Arnie, who were an early incarnation of Jan and Dean. When Dean Torrance was conscripted into the US Army in 1958, he was unable to feature on the band's first release. "Jennie Lee". With Arnold 'Arnie' Freeman stepping in, the band's name was temporarily changed until Torrance's return, at the end of the year.
