Description
Johnny Cash, June Carter, Tex Ritter 1964 Newburgh, NY Concert Poster. A tasty and lovely poster for a two-show performance by the Man in Black at a roller rink called the Avalon Rollerdrome in Newburgh, New York on Friday, November 13, 1964.Cash was riding high off of his album, I Walk the Line, which features several of his beloved songs redone, including the title track and "Folsom Prison Blues." The "Special Attraction" was June Carter, who would later marry Cash in 1968. (They would remain married until her death decades later.) Other performers included the Statler Bros. Quartet and Tex Ritter. Not bad for only $2 a head. Measures 16 5/8" x 25 7/8". In Very Good Minus condition after repair work by Chameleon Restoration. COA from Heritage Auctions.
More Information: The board was once folded vertically from top to bottom, and that crease has been minimized visually but still flexes a little bit. Poster has bumped corners and a little bit of warpage. General dirt and grime on the surface, plus general overall toning.
