    Johnny Cash - Earliest Known Concert Poster (WSM Grand Ole Opry Presents, 1956). Extremely Rare. Window card boxing style poster printed on card stock, for a "WSM Grand Ole Opry" show at '"Live Stock Aud., Valdosta - GA., Tue. Mar. 13", The headline act is "Ferlin Huskey" (misspelled, correct spelling Husky) with the second act named as Simon Crum, a comic character played by Husky, and the third and fourth acts "Cowboy Copas" and "Kathy Copas". At the very bottom of the line-up is "Extra Added Attraction, Johnny Cash Trio". Printed by Hatch Show Print, Nashville. Measures 14" x 22". In Very Good condition with two heavy creases from the poster having been quarter-folded, as stored by the printer, with wear to corners and edges, general toning.

    This is the only known copy of this poster, and the earliest known concert poster featuring Johnny Cash.

    This concert poster is dated to March, 1956, at a pivotal point in Johnny Cash's musical career. Up to this point, he had only released two singles, both on the Sun label: "Cry, Cry, Cry" and "Folsom Prison Blues". The singles reached number fourteen and number five respectively on the C&W charts. His next single was to be his his breakthrough hit "I Walk The Line", released on 2 April, 1956. It reached number one on the C&W charts and made the top twenty of the Pop charts.
