Description

Jimi Hendrix, Cream, Pink Floyd, The Move 1967 Small U.K. Concert Poster. An original small paper advertising poster for three British super-legends and three other bands playing at the Tulip Bulb Auction Hall in Spalding, Lincolnshire, England on the afternoon and evening of Monday, May 29, 1967. Very hard to imagine seeing Hendrix, Cream and Floyd for just one pound total admission, but here it is. And let's not forget The Move, with Roy Wood... not a hit band in America, but Wood's next incarnation certainly was... no less than the Electric Light Orchestra.

Lots of charming wording on this piece, truly a four-color poster of red, green, black and orange. Jimi had released three singles in England so far in '67, and all three went Top 10 there: "Hey Joe," "Purple Haze" and "The Wind Cries Mary." And the LP Are You Experienced? had just entered Britain's Record Retailer album chart a few days before this. Meanwhile Cream were playing off Fresh Cream and Pink Floyd had only experienced the singles chart thus far with the Top 20 "Arnold Layne."

Heritage has offered this gem only once before, and that restored specimen commanded $11,250. Measures 8 1/2" x 13 1/2" and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Upper right corner has a 1 ½" diagonal crease and a couple of tiny spots of color missing. Bottom of the poster has a horizontal crease all the way across, about ½" from the bottom edge, that is strongest in the word "Five." There's a little yellow broken color at the very edge because of this, and another dot of it above the "E" in "Five." Otherwise standard handling creases throughout, nothing major and in fact barely much visible.
