Jimi Hendrix 1968 Buffalo, New York Concert Poster....
Description
JIMI SPENDS A SATURDAY NIGHT IN BUFFALO, NEW YORK
Jimi Hendrix 1968 Buffalo, New York Concert Poster. An
original cardstock window card for the Jimi Hendrix Experience
appearing at the Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, New York on
Saturday night, March 23, 1968. A very fun little piece with Jimi
in a take-charge pose wearing his famous old-style military
jacket. The Mark Boyle Sense Laboratory was the light show, and we're assuming Jesse's First Carnival was the local opening act. We don't know Jimi's exact set on this occasion, but two nights earlier in Rochester the Experience performed "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" (their usual opener at this point), "Spanish Castle Magic," "Hey Joe," "Foxy Lady," "The Wind Cries Mary," "Red House," "Manic Depression," "Purple Haze" and "Wild Thing."
This is the first time Heritage has ever been able to offer this one-off regional rarity. Measures 14 1/8" x 18 7/8" and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
More Information: Poster has one horizontal crease running through the center, probably from mailing or official storage, but fortunately it doesn't break the black color. There's another very, very mild, almost-not-there poster-wide one going through "and" in the top part. There are two obvious tape residue stains in the top corners. Otherwise just normal handling and light creasing in places, mostly apparent at the two ends of that center horizontal crease. The verso has a large name written at the top in crayon, and a little bit of rubbing blemishes.
