Jefferson Airplane / Crazy World of Arthur Brown 1968 Fillmore East Concert Poster. First-printing New York concert poster for the Jefferson Airplane and the Crazy World of Arthur Brown at the Fillmore East Auditorium in New York City on May 3 & 4, 1968.

Known loosely as FE-6 in the world of Bill Graham posters, this poster was designed by Fantasy Unlimited, the same collective that designed the famous Jimi Hendrix Experience poster that was next in line after this show.

The Airplane was touring off their third album, After Bathing at Baxter's. At the height of the compact disc era, in 1998, RCA/BMG released a live album taken from these two nights called simply Live at the Fillmore East. The CD cover art was derived from this poster. It's a nice selection of tunes, including their biggest hits, but everyone talks about "Thing," an 11-minute free-form experimental instrumental.

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown would have their big moment in the sun this summer with "Fire," but in the meantime were honing their chops. Attendees of these shows saw Brown's drummer, Carl Palmer, before he went on to co-found Emerson, Lake & Palmer two years later.

Measures 13" x 22 1/4" and grades to Near Mint Minus condition. The lower right corner, specifically, has two corner creases, ¾" and 1 ½", but both are tough to see and certainly don't break the color. And the upper right margin has a very mild ¼" crease above "York," just hardly there at all. COA from Heritage Auctions.
