Description

Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield 1967 Minneapolis, MN Concert Poster. An original psychedelic cardboard concert poster from the Summer of Love for a strong four-band bill - dubbed "Happening '67" - playing in Minnesota over the weekend of July 19-21, 1967. The Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield, the Electric Prunes and the Shadows of Knight all converged for the "Minneapolis Aquatennial," an annual multi-day event that still celebrates the city to this day. Features terrific artwork centered around the Airplane's Surrealistic Pillow album-cover photo. Measures 14 1/2" x 22 1/2" and grades to Very Good Plus condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Down in the blue of the lower right corner it states, "Poster by Joaquin of Subterranean Productions Ltd."

Condition details: The left white margin has some blemishes for a few inches about halfway down. They continue a bit into the white blocks there. The poster's verso has a couple of dings near the left edge, about ½ and then ¾ of the way down. The top one is rough to the touch and shows a bit in a white block on the front. The bottom one mysteriously looks like a pinhole but doesn't show at all on the front in the busy artwork. Verso also has uneven toning.
