Jefferson Airplane "A Benefit For The Grateful Dead" Winterland Concert Poster BG-222 (Bill Graham Presents, 1970). Rare. Type 2 original poster by artist Randy Tuten, printed in red and orange. The poster announces "A Benefit For The Grateful Dead" on Monday February 23 in San Francisco. The support acts are Quicksilver Messenger Service, Santana, It's A Beautiful Day and Dan Hicks & His Hot Licks. Measures 13.75" x 21". In Near Mint Minus condition with a slight crease across the upper right corner, light wear to edges, several black marks, possibly stray printer's ink, to left edge.Literature: See Grushkin, Paul, The Art of Rock Posters from Presley to Punk, Abbeville Press, New York, 1987, p. 138.
This benefit concert took place for the Dead after they were arrested for drug possession in New Orleans.
