Description
Jefferson Airplane 1966 Matrix, San Francisco 75 Cents Admission Handbill. An original B&W advertising flyer for the pride of San Francisco, the Jefferson Airplane, appearing at the Matrix nightclub beginning on Monday, May 30, 1966. Now we're getting to the point where the printed materials would sometimes carry a printer's union bug (bottom center). Very cool design of three airplanes - or should we say biplanes - in flight, reaching out for your attention. Just a 75 cent door charge, and remember, the Matrix didn't have a liquor license, so every quarter counted. Can you just imagine how much fun music, and stage banter, was made for 4 ½ hours every night; only those lucky enough to attend know. Just a really sweet little piece with, again, drop-dead provenance. Measures 8" x 10 1/4" and grades to Mint condition. From the Ray Andersen Collection. Letter of Provenance from Sunny Andersen Chanel, COA from Heritage Auctions.
