    Description

Jeff Beck / Rod Stewart / Ron Wood / Nicky Hopkins / Peter Grant 1968 U.K. Concert Poster. An original thin-paper British concert poster for guitar god Jeff Beck, who's listed by just his name here but whose band was called The Jeff Beck Group. In that highly influential outfit were vocalist Rod Stewart, guitarist Ronnie Wood and keyboardist Nicky Hopkins. Peter Grant, who soon would become Led Zeppelin's one & only manager, was TJBG's assistant manager at the time.

This poster advertised a gig at the Manor House pub in north London, England in the spring of 1968. The show couldn't be timed better in Jeff Beck's career. He had just finished recording his debut LP, Truth, a couple of weeks prior, featuring classics like "I Ain't Superstitious," "Morning Dew," "You Shook Me," "Rock My Plimsoul" and a cover of the Yardbirds' "Shapes of Things." Also on the album was an instrumental called "Beck's Bolero," which featured Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and Keith Moon. We can only imagine who showed up at this club gig to either watch or join Beck onstage.

Measures 19 7/8" x 30" and grades to repaired Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Poster has been expertly repaired along the top where there were several tears and a missing corner. Likewise with the left and right margins down near the bottom. The resto work is so smooth and seamless it's barely detectable unless examined very closely. Otherwise, just a crumpled upper left corner and small edge tear near the upper right corner is all that visually affects this now. The flecks in Beck's name are just printing imperfections.
