Janis Joplin/Big Brother And The Holding Company Selland Arena Concert Poster AOR-3.30 (Baba Love Company, 1968). Very Rare. Original poster for a show in Fresno, California. dated April 19 with opening act the Mint Tattoo. The stunning, brightly colored psychedelic artwork by Dale "Sogy" Oftedal features no less than three images of Janis Joplin, including one to the upper right corner depicting Joplin as a bird perched on a tree branch, a central image of Janis and a third with the other members of Big Brother And The Holding Company. Measures 17" x 24.25". In Very Good condition with some creases and wear to edges and corners, with a scuff just above the "i" in "Big" to the upper left corner.Literature: See Grushkin, Paul, The Art of Rock Posters from Presley to Punk, Abbeville Press, New York, 1987, p.263 (illus.).
This is only the second example of this poster that Heritage has ever offered. The previous example sold for $7,500 in 2013.
