Hype! Theatrical Poster (1996). Filmmaker Doug Pray wanted to document the Seattle music scene from the early 1990s, so he spent a few years interviewing bands and filming shows. The majority of Hype! was filmed well before Kurt Cobain's death in 1994, and it is more about the local effect on a music scene when the mainstream comes for it. It's a definitive documentary with interviews and performances from bands like Mudhoney, Dead Moon, the Supersuckers, Soundgarden, and many others. At the time, it was the first time footage from Nirvana's live debut of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" was ever publicly made. (More footage of the show would later be used in the Montage of Heck documentary many years later.) Poster measures 9" x 25" and is signed by the designer towards the bottom of the right corner. In Near Mint condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.
