Description

Herman's Hermits, The Animals 1966 Lincoln, NE Jumbo Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising two British hit-making machines of the 1960's, Herman's Hermits and the Animals, playing a show in Lincoln, Nebraska on Wednesday night, July 13, 1966. A really fun concert poster that we've never seen before. Peter Noone & Co. were really on a roll, having enjoyed - hang on - nine straight Top 10 hits up to this moment, the last three being "Leaning on the Lamp Post," "Listen People" and "A Must to Avoid." Meanwhile, the Animals' last two significant hits had been "Don't Bring Me Down" and "It's My Life." Great music everywhere! This first-ever Heritage offering measures 21 5/8" x 28" and grades to repaired Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: Instead of the standard white background, this was apparently printed with a pink hue, which certainly makes it stand out.

Condition details: Chameleon Restoration addressed a few edge and corner issues, touching up any printing or color where necessary, eradicating surface blemishes and greatly reducing any creasing it might have had. The result is a super-cool piece with little evidence of past damage. There do remain three pinholes evenly spaced across the top, one on either side halfway down, and two in the bottom corners – all in the margins. There's also a few light surface nicks and handling creases. On the verso, we do see remnants of where tape was used when the poster was hung back in the day.
