Herman's Hermits, Major Lance 1965 Roanoke, Virginia Concert Poster. An original cardboard window card advertising the British-Invasion group Herman's Hermits, led by Peter Noone, performing at Victory Stadium in Roanoke, VA on Sunday afternoon, June 13, 1965, "rain or shine." Notice how the time was cleverly moved up by half an hour without having to cross anything out.

Herman's Hermits were on a torrid winning streak at this very moment. Hang onto your hat, because 1965 saw the band release no less than seven Top 10 pop hits in America, which must be some kind of record: "Can't You Hear My Heartbeat," "Silhouettes," "Mrs. Brown You've Got a Lovely Daughter," "Wonderful World," "I'm Henry VIII, I Am," "Just a Little Bit Better" and "A Must to Avoid." Two of those are plugged on this poster under their picture.

Second-billed Major Lance had enjoyed two Top 10 pop hits the year before: "The Monkey Time" and "Um, Um, Um, Um, Um, Um."

Measures 14" x 22" and grades to Very Good condition. Surface creasing in places, such as over "HERM," "concert" and "Roanoke" at the top. Surface scratches and scuffing are evident in a few places; nothing too bad, but they're there. Two sets of staple holes at the very top in the white. A one-inch tear in the margin to the left of "Major," and a half-inch tear above "ITS" at the top. Corners are all bumped and a little bit creased. Verso has a tape lift top center. COA from Heritage Auctions.
