    Description

Hank Williams, Ernest Tubb 1949 San Antonio, TX Handbill/Record Brochure. An original four-page paper brochure from the Alamo Piano Company in San Antonio, Texas, extending "a cordial welcome" to Hank Williams and Ernest Tubb appearing together in concert at the local Memorial Auditorium on Wednesday, November 4, 1949. This unusual item was printed on blue paper with muted maroon/red on the front and back covers, and fun purple printing inside. Measures 6 1/4" x 9 1/2" closed and grades to Very Good condition. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: After that greeting on the cover, Alamo – both "Your Record Headquarters" and "San Antonio's Largest Exclusive Music Store" –spends the other three pages listing, promoting and selling the records from Hank, Ernest and several other C&W musicians.

Condition details: There's a paperclip indent below "Ernest" on the cover which duplicates on all four pages and left a tiny bit of rust on the back. The program was also dinged on the lower right edge, resulting in a half-inch tear on the cover and a smaller tear on the next edge. With the program opened up, which of course was made from a simple blue sheet of paper, the right edge is parchment-like from top to bottom. Does not feel torn at all, so we're sure it isn't, it was just the way the paper was made, and actually adds a little to its character. Front and back covers also toned from age.
