Description

Great Society/Big Brother and the Holding Company Fillmore Auditorium Concert Poster FD-2 (Family Dog, 1966). A rarely-seen first printing poster for the second Family Dog event, featuring the Great Society (starring Grace Slick, before her move to the Jefferson Airplane), and a pre-Janis Joplin Big Brother and the Holding Company, plus two more well-known San Francisco-based bands, the Grass Roots and Quicksilver Messenger Service. This poster marks the first appearance of Wes Wilson's classic Family Dog logo (the "gorilla" design was by FD head honcho, Chet Helms). This is one of the rarest Family Dog original posters around, and the first time Heritage has offered a first printing copy. Size is approximately 14" x 20". PLEASE NOTE: After further examination of this poster, it has come to our attention that there has been some professional restoration done to all four corners and some outer border areas. The work is outstanding and hard to spot without close personal examination. Due to this, we are changing the grade to VG-, although it appears NM-.
