Description

Grateful Dead, Frank Zappa/Mothers 1968 San Jose, CA Concert Poster. An original concert poster printed on blue card stock for Frank Zappa & the Mothers of Invention, pictured on the poster, with the Grateful Dead performing at the Civic Auditorium in San Jose, California on Friday night, June 21, 1968.

The Mothers were releasing albums like mad for Verve records at the time, with three in '68 alone: We're Only in It for the Money, Lumpy Gravy and Cruising with Ruben & the Jets. Meanwhile the Dead had only their debut LP out so far, thus their underbilling. However, according to Dead databases, they did not play. Measures 9 1/2" x 14" and grades to Near Mint Minus condition. From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: There's a light water-drop stain under "Presents." The lower right corner has a ¼" diagonal crease that is totally insignificant.
