THE DEAD ON PUBLIC TELEVISION, IMAGINE THAT

Grateful Dead, Andy Warhol 1967 KQED "Video Sutra II" Cardboard TV Appearance Poster. An original, printed-before-the-broadcast cardboard advertising poster for the showing of Video Sutra II on San Francisco public television station KQED Channel 9 on Wednesday night, April 26, 1967. Featured in the film were the Grateful Dead, pop-culture icon Andy Warhol, poet Michael McClure and others, in both "black & white and color." The handbills turn up from time to time, but this rare poster version is almost unheard-of. This thick board measures 14" x 22" and grades to Near Mint Minus condition. From the Tim Backstrom Grateful Dead Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: The board's upper left corner has a ¼" diagonal corner crease, and likewise the lower right corner. There's a little bit of rubbing to the black from so many decades of storage. On the verso, on the very top there are two areas of tape lift, plus a name written in black pen. The verso also has a bit of rubbing.
