Grateful Dead 1971 Ann Arbor, MI Concert Poster Signed by Gary Grimshaw, Graded 9.0 (AOR-4.187). An original first-printing concert poster for the Grateful Dead and New Riders of the Purple Sage performing at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor, Michigan on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, December 14 & 15, 1971. This OP-1 specimen has been signed at the bottom by its popular designer, Gary Grimshaw, and given a grade of 9.0 Very Fine/Near Mint by CGC (the Certified Guaranty Company). The Art of Rock book thought so much of this poster they gave it a full page all to itself. Measures 16 3/4" x 22". From the David Swartz Concert Poster Collection. COA from Heritage Auctions.

More Information: One fun aspect of this poster is that it pictures, twice no less, the "core original" five band members, all of whom dated back to the Warlocks days of 1965.

The Dead were touring off their double live album nicknamed Skull & Roses which first introduced their classics "Bertha" and "Playing in the Band" to the world.
