Gene Vincent Abilene City Hall Concert Poster (1959). Extremely Rare. Window card printed on card stock for a show in Texas dated Mon. Nov. 16, showing two classic black and white photographs, one a head and shoulders shot of Vincent, the second featuring his band the Blue Caps. The poster announces "Mr Be Bop A Lu Lu Himself / You saw him with Jayne Mansfield / in "The Girl Can't Help It" / Now see him in person!". Printed by "Central Show Printing Co.Inc., Mason City, Iowa". Measures 14" x 22". In Very Good Plus condition with restoration across the top left corner, to the "A" in "Abilene". Rubs and wear to corners and edges, surface wear and scratches across surface, some foxing to the left side. The text has been altered, with the word "Music" in "Harry Simmer Music" crossed out and replaced with "Drugs" in blue ink. Signs of staining showing at the back of the poster.

This is one of only two known examples of this poster. This is the first time that Heritage has ever offered a Gene Vincent concert poster and is the first to appear in a live auction. Gene Vincent and the Blue Caps were true pioneers of Rockabilly music who came to prominence with the classic "Be Bop A Lu La", a number 7 hit in 1956. Vincent was inducted in to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
