Description

Gene Vincent 1965 Star Club, Hannover, Germany Concert Poster. An original concert-advertising poster for Mr. Be-Bop-a-Lula himself, Gene Vincent, appearing at the famous Star Club in Hamburg, Germany on Friday night, February 26, 1965. The Beatles made the Star Club famous, of course, by appearing there on five separate occasions before they conquered the world.

Notice that by this time, Vincent was calling his back-up group The Shouts, as opposed to the Blue Caps name which he used in the 1950's.

Printed on thin white paper stock, this first-ever Heritage offering measures 17" x 24 1/4" and grades to Very Good Plus condition. The poster's right edge received crumpling from top to bottom, which would easily frame out. There's a soft 9" crease starting on the left edge, going thru the top point of the star and through the top of the "S" in "Star." Doesn't come close to breaking color, way too gentle. Poster has a couple of other light surface creases, and general light toning throughout. COA from Heritage Auctions.
