Fabian 1959 Honolulu, Hawaii Teen-Idol Concert Poster; Had Three Top 10 Hits This Year. An original cardboard window card from Hawaii advertising five concerts over three days from 16-year-old teen idol Fabian, who had torn up the pop charts this very year with "Turn Me Loose," "Tiger" and "Hound Dog Man."

This was the year for Fabian, no question about it; he placed a total of seven singles on Billboard's pop charts this year, and then by the spring of 1960 was gone forever. But he was obviously a focal point in pop culture's pivot from 1950's rock & roll to the solid-pop, girl-group, teen-idol, one-hit-wonder world of the early 1960's.

One has to admit that this is one of the best-looking early concert posters to come out of Hawaiian promoter Tom Moffatt. It's a super-strong presentation of Fabian's smiling face, surrounded by nice design elements for the 1950's.

Dee Clark was having a good 1959 as well, with a pair of Top 20 pop hits before "Raindrops" in 1961 moved him to headliner status.

Measures 14" x 22" and grades to Very Good condition. There's a tape lift in the yellow to the right of "Fabulous." A small hole in Fabian's photo in the upper right, bothering nothing. Another small tape lift to the right of "Oct. 25." Light dirt & grime on the poster's surface throughout. COA from Heritage Auctions.
