    Description

Everly Bros. Grand Ole Opry City Auditorium Concert Poster (1956). Rare. Window card printed in boxing style on card stock for a "WSM Grand Ole Opry" show in Gadsden, Alabama, Thursday Sep. 27. The line up includes "Ray Price The Nation's No.1 Country Singer - 'Crazy Arms', Van Howard...Lee Emerson..." and "The Everly Bros." Measures 13.75" x 21.75". In Very Good Plus condition with two heavy creases from poster being quarter-folded, as stored by the printer, toning and light staining to white areas.

This extremely early Everly Bros. concert poster is dated nearly two years before they achieved their first big hit "Bye Bye Love" (1958) and are clearly not yet household names, being only fourth on the lineup!. At this point in their career they were briefly signed to Columbia Records, but were soon to be dropped by the label after their first single flopped. Though they are best known for their success as pop artists, several of the Everly's early hits also made the top ten in the Country charts and, in fact they were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2001.

Provenance: The Hatch Show Print Archive, Nashville.
