Emerson Lake & Palmer 1974 Portland, Oregon Thick Board Concert Poster. A compelling vintage concert poster for Keith Emerson, Greg Lake and Carl Palmer advertising a gig at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, OR on Wednesday, February 13, 1974.

This window card was made by the Washington Poster Co. in the Pacific Northwest. They're known for having made extra heavy & thick cardboard concert posters during this era, and the ELP board is no exception; it is sturdy and hardy. Also, the prog-rock trio's record label, Manticore, had a sticker fastened down in the lower right corner after the posters were printed.

This show was part of a huge tour by any measure, supporting ELP's newest album, Brain Salad Surgery. The band carried almost 40 tons of equipment on the tour, which spanned 11 months and covered North America and Europe. About 10 days before this Portland show, the group recorded a live album, Welcome Back, My Friends, to the Show That Never Ends - Ladies and Gentlemen: Emerson, Lake and Palmer (got all that?), a triple LP recorded in Anaheim, California which was their most successful American album ever. So we know they were at the very pinnacle of their performing capabilities.

Measures 15" x 22 3/8" and grades to gorgeous Near Mint condition, with only the tiniest of bumps to the upper left and lower right corners. A couple of faint circles appear above "P.M." in the white stripe, but we're not sure if that's a printer's flaw or not. Also, the word "Pacific" has been lightly blacked out in the ticket information. Rather than considered damage, something like this was usually an official correction done by the promoter or printer after the posters were printed but before distribution.
