Elvis Presley 1954 Eagles Nest Original Hand-Painted Concert Poster, Memphis TN. Rendered on a black poster board, hand-lettered in red and white gouache paint, reading in part "...In Person / Memphis Own.../ Elvis Presley;" signed in silver ink on the lower right side margin (decades later) "I spent / a week there / one night! / Scotty Moore" and "D.J. Fontana." (Please note there are holes in all four corners and there is surface dirt and scratching due to age.) 36" x 24"
Sam Philips designed this poster for Elvis' December 10th, 1954 gig at the Eagles Nest, the nightclub located on Highway 78, outside of Memphis (though it was likely painted by a local artist). Elvis had been performing at this club since August of that year, with much success. At one time, Los Angeles KRTH-FM (101.1) disc jockey and Elvis aficionado, Brian Beirne, owned this piece.
