Ella Fitzgerald/Chick Webb Concert Poster (CRA Presents, late 1930s). Extremely Rare. Window card tour blank printed on card stock. The poster features a wonderful light blue background illustration of drums and musical notes, with a caricature of Webb's head with a smiling face, and a black and white headshot of Ella. The poster announces "CRA / Presents / America's / Greatest / Swing / Band / The King Of The Drums / Chick / Webb / and his Orchestra / Featuring Ella / Fitzgerald / The First Lady Of Swing". Measures 14" x 22". In Very Good condition, with slight loss to corners, especially the lower corners, two 0.75" tears to left edge, small nicks to lower edge, toning to edges.

Research indicates that this poster is likely to date to 1938 or 1939 - Ella Fitzgerald is referred to on the poster as the "First Lady of Swing", following her 1938 breakthrough hit "A-Tisket, A -Tasket". Chick Webb sadly passed away in June, 1939.
