Duke Ellington 1959 German Concert Poster Designed by Gunther Kieser. An original large paper concert poster for Duke Ellington and his Orchestra in Kiel, West Germany on Wednesday, October 7, 1959. The poster features early abstract art by renowned German poster artist Gunther Kieser, who would design the famous Jimi Hendrix "wire hair" concert poster 10 years later.

This poster is colored in deep blues, and depicts 14 abstract shapes and then Duke's face in place of the 15th. Under the white "D" in "Duke," the small print says, "michel & kieser novum." That's enough for us to know that the famous Mr. Kieser was involved in this poster's design.

Measures 23 ½" x 33" and grades to Very Good Minus for significant damage to all four corners, including tape lifts, tape residue and missing paper. COA from Heritage Auctions.

The movie quite literally changed my life. I have included a pic of me in Sly's Rocky 3 Cashmere overcoat, would much appreciate if it is possible for you to forward this email to Sly to let him know the overcoat is in good hands, and will be well taken care of, (as will be the Rambo knife forging tools, the other lot I won!) Wish you very happy holidays and a great 2016!
