Duke Ellington 1958 Bala, Ontario, Canada Concert Poster. A highly attractive silkscreened cardboard window card for the master, Duke Ellington, playing with His Orchestra at Dunns Pavilion in Bala, Ontario, Canada on Wednesday evening, July 30, 1958.The 1950's were a time when Edward Kennedy Ellington was at his most prolific. Wikipedia actually lists ten Ellington albums that were either released in '58 or recorded that year and released much later, often on compact disc. These included Black, Brown and Beige with Mahalia Jackson, Newport 1958 and Jazz at the Plaza Vol. II.
Measures 14" x 22" and grades to Very Good condition. Printer's flaw creating lighter orange at the bottom of some letters in "Ellington." Has "1958" written in pencil in lower right corner. General toning throughout, getting a little stronger at the very bottom. COA from Heritage Auctions.
