    Drifters/Dee Clark/Del Shannon Forum Concert Poster (1961). Extremely Rare. Window card printed in Dayglo orange, blue, yellow and black on card stock for two shows in Montreal on Sun. Sept 17. The poster for "The Biggest Show of Stars for '61 Fall Edition" features a stellar R&B/Rock 'n' Roll lineup, including images and hit songs for each act: Brook Benton, "Boll Weevil Song"; the Platters, "I'll Never Smile Again"; Del Shannon, "Hats Off To Larry"; Dee Clark, "Raindrops"; the Drifters, "Please Stay; [Gary] U.S. Bonds, "Quarter To Three"; Gene McDaniels, "A Tear"; the Jarmels, "A Little Bit Of Soap"; Curtis Lee, "Pretty Little Angel Eyes"; Phil Upchurch, "You Can't Sit Down; and the Cleftones, "Heart And Soul". Printed by "Globe Poster - Baltimore". Measures 17" x 22.75". In Very Good condition, with a heavy horizontal crease through the lower quarter of the poster from "Gene McDaniels" to "Curtis Lee", including a 1.5" tear to the left edge which has a tape repair on the reverse. Otherwise, general wear to corners and edges and some toning, in particular to white areas at the top.

    The "Biggest Show Of Stars" series of posters are some of the most coveted by concert poster collectors. The 1961 "Spring Edition" version of this poster sold at Heritage for $25,000 including Buyer's Premium in November, 2017. See Sale 7164, lot 89118.
